Donald R. McKee
Born in Amaranth, Donald worked as an electronic technician with Magnovox for 25 years, retiring in 1990.
He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and American Legion 296. He was an avid HAM radio operator, beekeeper, gardener and train enthusiast who enjoyed Civil War and history. He had a bachelor’s degree from Tri State University and a degree in computer science from IPFW.
Surviving are his loving wife of 59 1/2 years, Ruby Mc- Kee of Fort Wayne; sons: James E. (Hazel) McKee of Tallahassee, Fla., and William A. (Tammi) McKee of Ft. Wayne; daughters: Anne Patterson ( Paul Bate) of Gaithersburg, Md.; and Mary Beth (Beth Davidson) McKee of Boone, N.C.; grandchildren: Jason, Zachary, Troy, Nick, Alec and Max; and twin great-granddaughters: Mar- iana and McKenzie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Kenneth and Mary Catherine McKee.
Service will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, December 2, 2011, at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, with calling one hour prior. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2011, at the funeral home. Cemetery services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, December 5, 2011, in Whips Cove, Warfordsburg. Memorials may be made to the FW Rescue Mission.
