At the reorganizational meetings of Central Fulton and Forbes Road schools, James Gordon was elected by the Central Fulton board to serve as president and Hollis Mellott as vice president, and Cecil Fraker was re-elected president of the Forbes Road board, with Elwood Appleby as vice president.

Santa Claus will visit the McConnellsburg Firehall on Saturday, December 18, with treats for the children.

Clyde Robert Crotts of Kensington, Md., and Doris Aileen Garland of Warfordsburg applied for a marriage license at the local courthouse last week.

At the meeting of the McConnellsburg Fire Co. on December 7 the following officers were elected: Richard Crouse, president; David Hoover II, vice president; George Crouse, secretary; Steve Hoover, assistant secretary; Don McQuade, treasurer; Hiley Shimer, financial secretary; Jack Kelso and Ellis Yingling, directors; Rev. D.R. Hoover, chaplain; Charles Glenn, assistant chaplain; Marshall Helman, ambulance club secretary; and Rev. D.R. Hoover and Carl N. Mellott, ambulance club directors.

Engagement: Mr. and Mrs. LaFer Miller of Three Springs announce the engagement of their daughter, Panda Jane, to SP4 Donald E. Horne, son of Mr. and Mrs. Miles Horne of Hustontown.

Susan Grissinger and Karl Morgner exchanged marriage vows on November 27 at the Sylvania United Church of Christ. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Thomas of Sylvania, Ohio, and Richard Grissinger of McConnellsburg and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Morgner of Toledo, Ohio.

Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Long of Waterfall will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on December 23.

The local Jaycees have again erected an illuminated star on the ridge west of town to mark the Christmas season.

Harrison Howell of McConnellsburg on December 5; a son to Mr. and Mrs. Allen G. Weller of Warfordsburg on December 10.

The 56th annual Pennsylvania Farm Show will open for a week in Harrisburg on January 10.

Marine Lance Cpl. Dale H. Hoover, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester F. Hoover of Mc- Connellsburg, has reported for duty to the Marine Corps Air Station at Beufort, S.C.
