Richard W. Heldibridle Sr.
Richard W. Heldibridle Sr., 83, Saxton, died Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at his home after an extended illness.
Born September 8, 1928, in Hanover, he was the son of the late Herbert and Stella (Strawsbaugh) Heldibridle. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Heldibridle, May 19, 2003. He was united in marriage to the former June L. Carr May 10, 2005, in Hanover. His wife survives him at their home.
Also surviving are his three children: Statia Figard and her fiance, Jesse Jaymes, Burnt Cabins; Richard Heldibridle Jr. and his wife, Lori (Szczechowicz), of Lilly; and Jake Heldibridle and his wife, Jo Ann (Eicher), of Claysburg; three stepchildren: Cheryl Sprenkle, York; Dr. Boyd Sprenkle and his wife, Shannon, Ridgeley, W.Va.; and Grant Sprenkle, Canada; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a greatgreat granddaughter; and a brother, Sterling “Jim” Heldibridle, Davidsville.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Heldibridle; a sister, Dolores Gilbert; and great-granddaughter, Shaunte Burns.
He was a member of Raven Run Church of the Brethren.
He was employed at Anderson Electronics, Hollidaysburg, as a departmental supervisor for more than 20 years, until retiring in 1993.
He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, spending time outdoors and RVing with his family. He was a wildlife artist and an avid hunter.
Memorial services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 14, at Raven Run Church of the Brethren. Rev. Dan Hammel officiated.
