Warfordsburg Man Involved In Armed Robbery

A Warfordsburg man was one of two people recently arrested for involvement in an armed robbery that occurred between the Country Inn and Berkeley Springs State Park on Sunday, October 30.

Nineteen-year-old Ridge R. Gordon of Morgan County, W.Va., filed a report with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office after reportedly being accosted by two men at 3 a.m. Gordon was held at knife point, beaten and robbed of $22 in cash and a cellphone.

Charged in the incident were Joseph J. Jackson, 19, of Warfordsburg, and 20-yearold Berkeley Springs, W.Va., resident Joshua A. Schrider. Gordon was able to identify Schrider, who allegedly made no attempt to conceal his identity during the incident. Jackson reportedly covered his face with a hood and bandanna, according to media reports.

Both men were sent to to Eastern Regional Jail in Martinsburg in lieu of $150,000 bail.
