Car Hits Deer

An eastbound 2003 Volkswagen Jetta struck a whitetailed deer at the intersection of Route 30 and Lincoln Way West on Saturday, November 12, leaving one passenger with minor injuries.

According to state police reports, Chambersburg resident

Rusty L. Boyer was near the Ayr Township intersection when a deer crossed into his lane of travel. The Jetta sustained major damage as a result of the 9:30 p.m. crash.

Boyer and a 10-year-old female passenger from Waynesboro were not injured, but a second passenger, Sherry L. Jones, 36, also of Waynesboro, suffered minor injures to her left leg. She was transported to Fulton County Medical Center via ambulance for treatment of injuries.

State police were assisted on the scene by Cramer’s Towing and McConnellsburg Ambulance.
