Marvelene C. Hartman

Chambersburg, 83

Marvelene C. Hartman, 83, Chambersburg, and formerly of McConnellsburg, died Saturday, November 12, 2011, at her granddaughter’s home, with whom she resided.

She was born February 4, 1928, in Knobsville, to Jacob and Vera (Shadle) Croft. She was the widow of the late Andrew Hartman.

She had worked at the Stanley Company about 34 years before her retirement.

She was of the Methodist faith. She was an avid reader and a wonderful mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonita S. (wife of William) O’Connell of Chambersburg; one granddaughter, Gina M. Lake of Fayetteville; one grandson, R. Jeffrey (husband of Dorothy) Lake of Madison, Ala.; and three great-grandchildren: Aaron Lake, Kyle Lake and Bailey Orange.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, E. Andrew (Andy) Hartman.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Kelso- Cornelius Funeral Home Ltd., Chambersburg, with the Rev. E. Loy Garber officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at Union Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Home Nursing Agency, 761 Fifth Ave., Chambersburg, PA, 17201. Kelso- Cornelius Funeral Home, 725 Norland Ave, Chambersburg, Pa., will be handling the arrangements.
