George A. Grubb Sr.
George Alton Grubb Sr., 66, Huntingdon, died at 5 a.m., Sunday, November 6, 2011, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Born October 3, 1945, in Hesston, he was the son of George E. and Mary Catherine (Lynn) Grubb. He was united in marriage to the former Grace C. (Webb) Heffner. His wife survives him at their home.
He is survived by his children: George Grubb Jr. and his wife, Holly, Ed Heffner, Philishia Alvarado and her husband, Erick, and Mae Heffner, all of Huntingdon; Melissa Foster Chesney, Christina Foster and her husband Joseph, and Jason Grubb, all of Petersburg; stepsons: William Heffner Jr. and his wife, Betty, Huntingdon; Carl Heffner Sr. and his wife Tracy, Mount Union; Jeffrey Heffner, McConnellsburg; and William Foster and Russell Foster, both of Petersburg; 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brothers: Joseph Grubb and his wife Deborah, Mount Union and Kenzel Grubb and his wife, Betty, Segel, as well as many nieces and nephews.
One grandson, Matthew Houp, preceded him in death.
He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
He had volunteered with both Angel Food Ministries and Friends of Greenwood Furnace State Park.
He was a 1965 graduate of Huntingdon Area High School.
He retired from PennDOT as a truck driver after 31 years of service.
He loved camping, fishing and woodworking.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 9, at Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, Huntingdon. Rev. Scott Decker officiated. Burial was made in Manor Hill Cemetery, Huntingdon.
