N. Idaho Couple Seeks To Close Off Land
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) – A northern Idaho couple is asking the state to prohibit hunting on public land near their home, saying bullets are being fired too close for comfort.
The Coeur d'Alene Press reports Bart and Pat Templeman recently sent their request to the Idaho Department of Lands. The Templemans live a couple hundred yards from nearly 500 acres of state endowment land in Coeur d'Alene.
Their neighbor, Christy Blazin, agreed she would like to see hunters barred from the property near her home. Blazin says she's not against hunting but feels there are plenty of other places that are not so close to residential neighborhoods.
Roger Jansson heads the Department of Land's north Idaho offices and says officials are discussing the residential concerns, but no immediate action is planned.
