Card Night

McConnellsburg Alumni & Friends Association will hold a card party in the alumni community building on Saturday, November 26, 2011, starting at 6 p.m. Please bring a covered dish to be enjoyed by everyone. Any questions, please contact Kathy J. Kendall at 485-0221. Hancock Holiday House Tour

Hancock Historical Society will hold its 2011 Holiday House Tour November 19, and Saturday, November 20, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day. This year’s tour showcases the Hancock Presbyterian Church, 1828 Trail Inn Bed & Breakfast, Hancock Visitor’s Center & Museum and four homes. Also open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day is the C&O Canal National Historic Park Visitor Center. The center is the site of the historic Bowles farmhouse. A tour ticket is not required at the visitor center. Tickets are $10 for adult, and $5 for student, and can be purchased at Petals ‘n Bows flower shop in Hancock or call Rebecca Shoemaker at 240-520-0520. Ticket sales benefit the historical society’s museum. Teen Night At Library

Fulton County Library will host teen night in the community room Friday, November 18, between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. In addition to games, Wii and other activities, the group will also be serving their own Thanksgiving dinner. All local teens are encouraged to attend. Shooting Match

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor a shooting match Saturday, November 19, beginning at 1 p.m. Shells will be furnished and prizes awarded. Open Stage

Hustontown Fire Co. will sponsor an open stage on Saturday, November 26, at 6 p.m. Kitchen opens at 5 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend and share talent or just come and enjoy the music. Bring a friend. Hope to see you there. FCMC Wellness Program

The Fulton County Medical Center Wellness program is offering Zumba fitness with John Tanon. Classes will be held every Friday evening from 5-6 p.m. and Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 at the McConnellsburg Alumni and Friends building. Classes begin December 2. The first annual Colonial Christmas will be held Sunday, November 20, at 3 p.m. in the newly constructed summer kitchen at the state historic site of Fort Loudon. Join in for a cup of mulled cranberry tea, cookies and other goodies. The log kitchen will be decorated as in colonial times. Members will discuss decorations, food, music, toys and gifts from that period. The public is invited and admission is free. Free parking. More information may be obtained by calling 369-3318. The site is located on N. Brooklyn Road, off Route 30, 13 miles west of Chambersburg. Craft Show

A winter craft show will be held Saturday, November 19, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, November 20, noon to 4 p.m., at Shade Gap Auxiliary Building and has also expanded to the Shade Gap Firehall. MES/MMS Musical

Fifty students in grades fourth thru seventh are preparing to bring “Bah Humbug Scrooge’s Christmas Carol” to life on Friday and Saturday, November 18 and 19, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 20, at 2:30 p.m., in McConnellsburg High School Auditorium. Anyone wishing to make a donation to the MES/MMS Musical please send name as you would like it to appear in the program and donation to Susanne Moore, McConnellsburg Elementary School, 151 East Cherry Street, McConnellsburg, PA 17233. Tickets will be $5 and can be purchased in advance by contacting 717-485-3195 or at the door at any of the times. Dodge Ball Tournament

McConnellsburg Alumni & Friends Association will hold its next dodge ball tournament Saturday, November 26, at the old MHS gym. Registration will be from noon to 1 p.m. with competition starting at 1 p.m. Teams must have at least six people. Only six members play at a time. The number of teams entered will determine the type of tournament offered. Every team guaranteed to play at least two matches. Anyone wanting to play and cannot get a team together can call Kathy Kendall at 485-0221 or 377- 3643.
