Worker Stole From Pa. Woman With Palsy
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (AP) – Police have charged a homecare worker with stealing $300 from a western Pennsylvania woman with cerebral palsy.
West Hills Regional Police tell the Tribune-Democrat of Johnstown that 61-year-old Dorothy Hall stole the money from a woman in Lower Yoder Township. Hall was working in the woman’s home for Alleghenies United Cerebral Palsy when the theft allegedly occurred Oct. 21.
A spokesperson for the group declined comment because the matter is still in the courts, where Hall faces a preliminary hearing Nov. 23.
Police say Hall saw the woman take money from a VHS tape case on a book shelf and the next time the woman went to get money, she noticed $300 million.
Online court records don't list an attorney for Hall, who was charged earlier this week. She does not have a listed phone.
