Women Charged In Kidnapping Of Pennsylvanian Teen For Ransom

READING, Pa. (AP) – Authorities in eastern Pennsylvania have arrested two women who they say kidnapped a 14-year-old girl and later released her unharmed after receiving $1,000 in ransom.

Reading (police Inspector Francis Drexler says the kidnapping was drug-related.

Police say the teenager was forced into a car near her home on Thursday, and that her mother then received a ransom call.

Authorities say the mother notified police, who directed her to make the payment. The girl returned home safely early Friday, and authorities arrested the suspects about a half-hour later.

Twenty-six-year-old Grace Perez-Jimenez and 21- year-old Samantha Conrad, both of Reading, have been charged with kidnapping and related offenses.

Both were scheduled for arraignment Friday evening. Court documents did not list attorneys for either woman.
