Fulton County residents will have to band together with residents of other rural counties and put pressure on the state legislature if they expect to change the state laws for issuing doe licenses. That was the main lesson to be learned at a meeting on Monday night. About 200 local residents attended the meeting., which was presided over by several Game Commission officials. The crowd sat quietly through a slide program about how the Game Commission determines the number of licenses to be issued for proper game management. But when the officials began to take questions, the audience had a lot to say. District Game Protector Mark Crowder said he was at the courthouse along with two deputies to watch over the license issuance. He said there were no hand-delivered applications accepted, and the first 3,500 applications received were issued licenses, according to the law.
