Incumbents Gary Decker and

Robert Garlock and former commissioner Donald “Pete” Culler were the voters’ choices in the county commissioners race in Tuesday’s election. In the race for county district attorney, incumbent James Schall beat out challenger Dwight Harvey, while Bonnie Keefer Mellott edged Jack Fields in the race to replace David Wright as county treasurer.

Three firefighters suffered minor injuries and the homeowner was treated for exhaustion as the result of an electrical fire which destroyed a two-story home along U.S. Route 30 in Licking Creek Township November 3. Lynch credited the actions of a Clear Spring man and a Waynesboro man with saving the life of homeowner Margaret West prior to the arrival of firefighters Sunday morning. Lynch said they were travelling west on Route 30 Sunday on their way to fish when they spotted smoke coming from Mrs. West’s home along Route 30 just east of Harrisonville.

Col. Jerre K. Mellott of Hustontown will be the featured speaker for the Fulton County Veterans Day program November 11.

Tammy McCardell and Gary Gearhart were united in marriage on September 21, at Quincy United Methodist Church, Quincy, Pa. Parents of the couple are Gary Lee and Ruth Ann McCardell of Rouzerville and Charles Gearhart of Wells Tannery and Mrs. Gloria McGowan of Hustontown.

Mr. and Mrs. Terry Appleby of Hustontown are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Talisha Appleby, to Russel Harmon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Harmon of McConnellsburg.

Births at the Medical Center: a son to Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Wible of Mc- Connellsburg on October 27; a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Zeis of Fort Loudon on October 30.
