Holiday House Tour Set For Nov. 19, 20


The Hancock Historical Society will hold its 2011 Holiday House Tour next Friday, November 19, and Saturday, November 20, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

This year’s tour showcases the Hancock Presbyterian Church, 17 East Main Street; 1828 Trail Inn Bed & Breakfast, 10 West Main Street; the Hancock Visitor’s Center & Museum at the historic Barton House, 42 West Main Street; and four homes: the Heller Home, former residence of the late Al and Regina Heller, 14 West High Street; Flint's Chance, home of John and Deborah Cohill, 5102 Western Pike; the home of Jessie Mills, 5336 Creek Road; and Hook’s Mill, home of Leslie Mills, 5419 Creek Road.

Also open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day is the C&O Canal National Historic Park Visitor Center. The center is the site of the historic Bowles farmhouse, 439 East Main Street. A tour ticket is not required at the visitor center.

House tour tickets are $10, adult, and $5, student, and can be purchased at Petals ‘n Bows flower shop in Hancock or call Rebecca Shoemaker at 240-520-0520.

Ticket sales benefit the historical society’s museum.
