Shooting Match Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor a shooting match November 12, beginning at 1 p.m. Shells will be furnished and prizes awarded.

Hancock Holiday House Tour Hancock Historical Society will hold its 2011 Holiday House Tour November 19, and Saturday, November 20, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day. This year’s tour showcases the Hancock Presbyterian Church, 1828 Trail Inn Bed & Breakfast, Hancock Visitor’s Center & Museum and four homes. Also open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day is the C&O Canal National Historic Park Visitor Center. The center is the site of the historic Bowles farmhouse. A tour ticket is not required at the visitor center. Tickets are $10 for adult, and $5 for student, and can be purchased at Petals ‘n Bows flower shop in Hancock or call Rebecca Shoemaker at 240-520-0520. Ticket sales benefit the historical society’s museum.
Mic Night Mic night will be held at Warfordsburg Senior Center November 12, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Food and drink will be available. Donation is a $1. For more information, call 717-294-6020.
Christmas Dinner Auction Fulton County Community Christian School will host its annual Christmas dinner auction Saturday, November 12, at Needmore Bible Church. A silent auction will begin at 3:30 p.m. A buffet dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m., followed by the traditional auction at 6:30 p.m. Hundreds of items to bid on ranging from handcrafted furniture and crafts to antiques, guns, hunting and fishing gear and supplies, household decorations, framed prints, jewelry and much more. Open Stage Hustontown Fire Co. will sponsor an open stage on Saturday, November 26, at 6 p.m. Kitchen opens at 5 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend and share talent or just come and enjoy the music. Bring a friend. Hope to see you there.
Colonial Christmas The first annual Colonial Christmas will be held Sunday, November 20, at 3 p.m. in the newly constructed summer kitchen at the state historic site of Fort Loudon. Join in for a cup of mulled cranberry tea, cookies and other goodies. The log kitchen will be decorated as in colonial times. Members will discuss decorations, food, music, toys and gifts from that period. The public is invited and admission is free. Free parking. More information may be obtained by calling 369-3318. Bus Trip Modern Woodmen of America Camp 7948 is sponsoring a bus trip to Williamsburg, Va., on December 17. The bus departs from the McConnellsburg courthouse at 5:30 a.m. A stop will be made for breakfast in Warrenton, Va., at approximately 7:45 a.m. and arrival at Williamsburg at noon. Depart from Williamsburg at 6:30 p.m. with a stop for dinner around 8:45 p.m. and arrival in McConnellsburg around 1 a.m. Cost for transportation and admission fee to all of the buildings in Colonial Williamsburg is $75 per person. Craft Show A winter craft show will be held Saturday, November 19, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, November 20, noon to 4 p.m., at Shade Gap Auxiliary Building and has also expanded to the Shade Gap Firehall.

City near Macy’s at approximately 11:30 a.m. Depart New York city near 9th Ave., between 44th and 45th St. at 6:15 p.m. A stop will be made halfway home for supper. Estimated arrival back is 12:15 a.m. Cost for transportation and a buffet breakfast is adults $55 and children under 12 $50. MES/MMS Musical Fifty students in grades fourth thru seventh are preparing to bring “Bah Humbug Scrooge’s Christmas Carol” to life on Friday and Saturday, November 18 and 19, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 20, at 2:30 p.m., in McConnellsburg High School Auditorium. Pool Tournament Fulton County Pool League will be holding a doubles benefit pool tournament at the Packhorse, Saturday, November 12, at 1 p.m. Sign-in ends at 12:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit Chas Howells. Chas has been diagnosed with pulmonary vein stenosis, which is a rare condition where there is narrowing of the blood vessels carrying blood from the heart to the lungs. Chas is just over 1 year old. Tournament is double elimination. Also 50/50 and games of chance. Cost is $25 per team.
Dodge Ball Tournament McConnellsburg Alumni & Friends Association will hold its next dodge ball tournament Saturday, November 26, at the old MHS gym. Registration will be from noon to 1 p.m. with competition starting at 1 p.m. Teams must have at least six people. Only six members play at a time. The number of teams entered will determine the type of tournament offered. Every team guaranteed to play at least two matches.
