Turkey Dinner A turkey dinner will be held November 12 at Shade Gap Auxiliary building beginning at 3 p.m. Cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children 4-10 and under 4 are free. Benefits Shade Gap Fire Co.

Thanksgiving Pie Sale St. Stephen Family Life Committee is sponsoring Grandma Ann’s apple and cherry pie sale Saturday, November 19. Pies can be picked up beginning at 9 a.m. The cost is $8 for plain crust and $9 for crumb topping. To place an order, call 717-485-5917.

Woodland Owners Banquet Woodland Owners of the Southern Alleghenies will feature Tracey Coulter of the American Chestnut Foundation at its annual banquet at the Apple Bin Restaurant Thursday, November 10, at 6 p.m. Coulter will present a history of the blight that eliminated chestnut trees from the Northeast and talk about the progress being made to bring blight-resistant trees to forests. Fee for WOSA members is $16 per person; $21 for nonmembers. Checks payable to WOSA may be sent to Ben Tresselt, 110 Long Bend Beach Road, Hopewell, PA 16650. Ham Potpie Dinner A ham potpie dinner will be held at Warfordsburg Presbyterian Faith Center on November 12, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will also be a bake sale and special music by New Connection bluegrass band. Dinner is by donation and proceeds benefit local missions.

Legion Membership Dinner American Legion Post 561 membership dinner will be held November 22 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Free Meal St. Paul Lutheran Church at 220 North Third Street, McConnellsburg, will serve a free meal the second Tuesday of each month from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Come and enjoy good food and fellowship. Note: no free meal in October but will continue again in November.
