Joseph A. Atkins
Joseph A. Atkins, 60, of Harrisonville, died Friday, October 28, 2011, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born December 2, 1950, in Mariemont, Ohio, the son of the late Charles and Lucille Segraves Atkins. Joseph was married to Deborah Atkins on August 19, 2002.
He was employed as a truck driver by the Arizona Department of Transportation prior to retiring. Joseph served in the United States Army from 1968-1971.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Lynn Atkins, Harrisonville; seven children: Lucinda Kellison of Pheonix, Ariz.; Joseph A. Atkins Jr. of San Diego, Calif.; and Mistyrose Gruby of Westernville, N.Y.; Melanie Daniel Snyder of Chambersburg; Megan Diane Fox of Warfordsburg; Courtney Rochelle Yanosik of Greencastle; and Sierra Marie Yanosik, who lives at home; 10 grandchildren; and eight siblings: Lonnie Atkins of Indianapolis, Ind.; JoAnne Bowers of Harrisonville; Leonard Atkins of Owensville, Ohio; Andrew Atkins of Owensville, Ohio; David Atkins of Mount Orab, Ohio; Magdalene Minute of Mount Orab, Ohio; Lena Wright of Mount Orab, Ohio; and Michael Atkins of Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lucille Segraves Atkins; one brother, Charles Atkins Jr.; and one sister, Grace Myers.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at the Supreme Council of the House of Jacob Church in Harrisonville.
