Big Cove Tannery Man Pleads In Rape
A Big Cove Tannery man accused of sexually assaulting a child waived mandatory arraignment proceedings held this week before Fulton County Court of Common Pleas President Judge Douglas W. Herman.
Joshua Wayne Robinson, of 2391 Cito Road, entered a notguilty plea on Tuesday, November 1, to all criminal charges filed by Pennsylvania State Police investigators from the McConnellsburg barracks in connection with allegations that emerged in mid- August. Charges against Robinson currently include four counts of rape; three counts each of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and indecent assault; and one count of statutory sexual assault.
Robinson, 27, was represented in court proceedings by the law office of Kulla, Barkdoll, Ullman, Painter & Associates of Waynesboro. He remains free on $20,000 bail.
In an affidavit of probable cause filed in connection with the case, Trooper Michael Davis stated a mother and her juvenile daughter arrived at the barracks on August 28 to report that the girl had been “sexually assaulted” by Robinson. A follow-up forensic interview with the victim was performed several days later.
The affidavit maintains the victim was lying in bed next to Robinson, who allegedly touched her inappropriately. The girl told police officers Robinson asked her to touch him and placed her hand on himself several times, police stated in charging documents.
As a follow-up to their interview with the female juvenile, police also spoke with Robinson at the local substation regarding the allegations. The affidavit states Robinson admitted to having laid in bed next to the girl, while a 2-year-old boy laid there as well watching a movie.
Allegedly Robinson went on to admit to police he asked the girl to touch him, and outlined the events in a written confession, the affidavit said. Robinson also indicated he had taken too much prescription pain medication, which had left him in an intoxicated state.
Robinson is next scheduled to appear in court on January 10, 2012, for call of the criminal trial list.
