Buzz and Bea Covert were honored with a surprise 50th wedding anniversary celebration on Saturday, October 22, at the Whitetail Golf building.

Bobby and Jean Madden from the Pittsburgh area were visiting in Maddensville last weekend.

Deepest sympathy and prayers are extended to the family of Pat Fraker Mellott.

Jase Watkins, son of Kenny and Kristi Watkins, celebrated his first birthday on Sunday afternoon with lots of family and friends. He especially enjoyed the icing on his cake and all his presents.

Tim Streightiff and Betty and Huldah Streightiff visited with Tom and Mamie Streightiff last weekend.

Donna Locke visited with Irene Locke at Meadowview Manor this week.

Brent Carlson, Donna Locke, Tom and Mamie Streighiff, Mike, Chris and Kevin Pintozzi and friend Brad, Steve, Colin and Steve Varner, Steve and Ben Haines, and Marty and Brian Sinnkiewicz visited with Steve and Karen Grissinger and family last weekend.

Trick or treaters this week included Donna, Cassie and Caleigh Clark and Travis, Tanya, Tristen and Ty Hall.

Donna, Cassie and Caleigh Clark visited with Wade, Dorothy, Nathan and Delaney Patterson on Wednesday evening.

Congratulations to Brenden Lupey on his successful deer hunt last weekend.

Tom and Mamie Streightiff recently enjoyed a vacation trip to Arizona, Utah and Nevada.

Terri Grissinger and five students from the Huntingdon Area High School travfor eled to Indianapolis last week for the National FFA Convention. In addition to the convention, the group enjoyed a concert featuring Little Big Town, Blake Shelton and Steel Magnolia.

Roger and Pat Ramsey attended a birthday party for Trudy Fix at the home of Thane Fix and Chelsea Hockenberry on Tuesday evening. Later the group enjoyed ice cream and cake with Harry and Lynn Logan of Texas.

The Angel Wings organization would like to extend its thanks to The Trolley Car Theater and the generous donation of the Saturday night proceeds. It was an honor to serve the meals for the Saturday shows of “Driving Miss Daisy.” If you didn’t see the show, you missed a great performance.

Angel Wings will host a 20-year anniversary celebration for Penn Central Physical Therapy Inc. on Friay, November 4, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Orbisonia office. Please stop by for refreshments and a visit with John and Carol Puskarich to thank them for their devotion to our community and allow them to share with you their gratitude for your support.

Three Springs Volunteer Fire Co. will have a chicken and waffles dinner on Sunday, November 13, beginning at 11 a.m.

It’s hard to believe November is upon us; less than two months until Christmas and an early snow forecast the weekend. Hope it’s not a sign of the winter ahead.
