Mary I. Varner
Mary I. Varner, 75, of Tannery Road, Shade Gap, died at 5:57 a.m., Friday, October 21, 2011, at her home.
Born January 6, 1936, at Shade Gap, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Pearl (Ritchey) Kearns. She was married to Edward E. Varner on March 16, 1953. He preceded her in death April 19, 2003.
Surviving are a daughter, Pam Lake, and husband Roger, Shade Gap; two grandchildren: Eddie Lake and Candice Lake; two great-grandchildren: Maysen Lake and Brayden Sipes; and a sister, Rena Wilson, York, Pa.
Five sisters: Jane Baker, Nannie King, Agnes Glunt, Idabelle Boggs and Beulah Fleming and a brother, Chester Kearns, preceded her in death.
She was employed at Sagner Inc., McConnellsburg, for 20 years. She enjoyed tending her flowerbeds, mowing the lawn, camping and spending time with her neighbors children.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia. Rev. Marlin Neil officiated. Interment was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Shade Gap.
