An 11th birthday party was held Sunday evening for Zoe Hann in the home of her mother, Toni and Kelly Howell. Family members and friends attended. Her birthday was October 21.

Public Opinion female Student Athlete of the Week was Libby Strayer of Mc- Connellsburg High School. She plays girls soccer and is a junior. Her position is center forward. Libby is the daughter of Rich and Tammy Strayer. She enjoys riding her horses and playing basketball. She has scored 21 goals and has seven assists for the season this far.

Public Opinion weekly honor roll student-athletes were Taylor Boher, Chase Horton, Southern Fulton soccer; Corri Parsons, Forbes Road field hockey; and Chase Shaw, Forbes Road soccer.

A birthday get-together for Elizabeth Bishop was given by her family on Friday evening in the Meyers Apartment social room.

Local folks who attended the wedding of Joshua and Heather Strait in Long Is- recently were parents Roger and Sandy Strait, sister and family Scott and Lori Mellott and children Molly, Maggie and Matthew and Jarrett, Robin Strait Harr, John and Tanya Braswell and children Isaiah and Chloe Rife, grandmother Doris Strait, Charlie and Dusty Harr and children Averie and Ellie, some coworkers and friends.

Tim McGarvey visited with his son, Dr. Jeremy Mc- Garvey, and friend Dr. Vivian Hou over the weekend in Philadelphia.

Visiting this week with father Jim and Eunice Hawbaker are Jimmie and Faye Hawbaker of Huntingdon Beach, Calif. Senior Jim will observe his 82nd birthday on October 28.

Sympathy goes out to the family of John Strait, who passed away last week. Also to the family of Pat Mellott who passed away last Friday.

Don’t forget the Mc- Connellsburg Fire Co. Halloween parade on Thursday night, October 27, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

“Trunk” or treat night will be held Saturday, October 29, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Knobsville United Methodist Church located on Waterfall Road.
