Tractor-Trailer Rolls Onto Side

A westbound 2008 Volvo tractor-trailer struck a set of metal guiderails on Saturday, October 8, while travelling down a hill along Interstate 70.

Pennsylvania State Police at McConnellsburg reported 42-year-old Lawrence A. Keller lost control of the tractor-trailer at 6:06 p.m. while travelling through Brush Creek Township. After impacting the guiderails, the vehicle crossed the median strip and struck guiderails located along the berm of the eastbound lanes of traffic. Police added the tractor-trailer went an additional 300 feet before striking an embankment and rolling into its left side.

Keller, of North Huntingdon, Pa., was wearing a seat belt and escaped harm. He will be cited for careless driving.

State police were aided on the scene by the Needmore and Breezewood volunteer fire companies as well as PennDOT, which provided traffic control. The tractor trailer was removed from the accident scene by Fischer’s Garage and Painter’s Garage.
