Matthew U. Barclay
Matthew U. Barclay, 43, McConnellsburg, Pa., died Friday, October 7, 2011, as a result of a vehicle accident in St. Thomas, Pa.
He was born in Mc- Connellsburg, on September 8, 1968, the son of the late Robert Barclay and Shirley (Myers) Barclay, who survives him of McConnellsburg.
He attended Siloam United Methodist Church in Harrisonville, was a member of the N.A and A.A., served in the U.S. Navy and worked construction before having back surgery.
He liked to fish, play golf, play with and care for his dogs as well as his mom's dogs and was a great race car fan. He loved spending time with his boys, helping his mom and also helped take care of his aunt.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by sons: Christian Harris of McConnellsburg; Landon Barclay of Shippensburg; Matthew Barclay of Shippensburg; sisters: Anna Barclay of Lancaster; Diane Boock of Chambersburg; brothers: Loren Barclay of Harrisonville; Keith Barclay of Yardley, Pa.; two aunts; and 12 nieces and nephews.
He knew and loved God and read his Bible and Big Book. He is sadly missed by his children, brothers, sisters, mom, aunt and his friends.
A memorial service will be held at Siloam United Methodist Church, Harrisonville, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011. Pastor William Bair will officiate. There will be visitation one hour before the service on Saturday at the church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
