Group Plans Occupy Wall Street Event In Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH (AP) – A western Pennsylvania group says it's planning a protest for later this month in Pittsburgh modeled on the Occupy Wall Street events that have made headlines in New York and several other large cities.
The Pittsburgh Tribune- Review (http://bit.ly/nnT9JV ) first reported the group's plans and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (http://bit.ly/qnwpOR ) on Thursday was reporting the results of the group's first meeting on Wednesday night at a Unitarian church in the city.
The group of about 300 didn't arrive at any firm plans, except to say they'll organize some sort of protest in downtown Pittsburgh on Oct. 15.
The group calling itself Occupy Pittsburgh has a Facebook page.
A protest in New York resulted in 700 arrests on the Brooklyn Bridge on Saturday.
