The McConnellsburg Fire Co. and

Town Council held a joint meeting last Tuesday at which time it was decided to sound the fire siren every Saturday evening at 7 p.m. for the purpose of testing it.

Deaths: Robert M. Skillington of Everett; Michael Gerry Waltz of Ohio; Loynn S. Martin of Mercersburg.

Cdr. E.S. Krug’s Chevrolet coupe was badly damaged in an accident near Fayetteville on Sunday while he was en route to Philadelphia for his marriage on Monday to Miss Helen V. Daniels. He continued his trip by train.

Mrs. Blair Waltz has received a telegram informing her that her brother, Arthur V. Mellott of Ione, Wash., had passed away from injuries he received when struck by an automobile.

About 300 county sportsmen have signed a petition asking that Fulton County be eliminatedº from the ruling that doe may be killed this year during the entire deer season.

Miss Dorothy Fix is now recuperating at her home in Fort Littleton after undergoing an operation for appendicitis in the Chambersburg Hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Helsel of Wells Tannery are the proud parents of a baby girl.

Death: A.S. Welch of Mt. Union.

A surprise party was held October 6 in honor of the 56th birthday of Mrs. Emanuel T. Mills of near Warfordsburg.
