Southern Fulton 4
Southern Fulton jumped out to a three-goal lead and dumped in an additional goal following the halftime break for a 4-1 victory over Cumberland Valley Christian. Friday. Josh Hill and teammate Chase Horton both had two goals, and Matt Garland and Taylor Bohrer each added an assist. Courtney Strait, goalkeeper, picked up his third win of the season with 11 blocked shots.
Northern Bedford 3
Even though McConnellsburg dominated much of the game last Thursday it was Northern Bedford who prevailed winning the Sideling Hill League match 3-1. Tyler Green had the lone goal for the Spartans on an assist from teammate Jesse Swope. Goalkeeper Nick Daniels finished with seven blocked shots.
Forbes Road 2
Hyndman jumped out to a two-goal lead Wednesday evening and cruised on to a 4-2 non-league win over the Forbes Road Cardinals. Michael Runk and Philip Dodson both dumped in goals for Forbes Road, who got an assist from Garrett Bard. Dalton Gilbert, goalkeeper, finished the match with eight blocked shots.
Southern Fulton 5
Southern Fulton picked up their second victory of the fall season last Wednesday evening when a Indians downed the Everett Warriors by the score of 5-3. Chase Horton led the team’s offensive effort during the Sideling Hill League game with two goals, and teammates Cody Burgoyne, Taylor Bohrer and Briar Kirk each added a goal. Tallying assists were Matt Garland with two, and Bohrer and Josh Hill with one each. Goalie Courtney Strait had 12 saves.
The Fannett- Metal Tigers snagged a 100th win for their head coach Monday night, defeating Mc- Connellsburg in a Sideling Hill League match. During the Spartans’ 3-0 loss, goalie Nick Daniels rallied for seven saves.
Forbes Road 4
Southern Fulton 1
With both teams getting off to a slow start Monday night, it was the Forbes Road Cardinals who eventually pushed ahead for the 4-1 Sideling Hill League victory over the Southern Fulton Indians. Michael Runk and Chase Shaw each had one goal, while Garrett Bard led the teamís scoring effort with two goals and one assist. Shaw finished with two assists, and Bobby Hess chipped in one assist. Goalie Dalton Gilbert picked up the win with 11 saves.
The Indians were led by Cody Burgoyne, who had the teamís only goal. Courtney Strait ended the match with five saves in goal.
Forbes Road 3
Southern Huntingdon 0
Erin McQuait dumped in two goals in the second half of last Thursday’s Keystone League game to push the Forbes Road Cardinals ahead of Southern Huntingdon
3-0. Corri Parsons tallied the Cardinals other goal and also handed out an assist as did teammate Sammie Clippinger.
Berkeley Springs 0
McConnellsburg clinched its third straight win Saturday by trouncing Berkeley Springs with six unanswered goals. Libby Strayer, Sarra Kendall and Nikki Fleming each scored two goals during the non-league match, and Strayer and Fleming both chipped in an assist. Sam Roberts finished out the game with two assists. Sarrah Pollock preserved the shutout with five saves in goal.
Chestnut Ridge 0
McConnellsburg jumped out to a two-goal lead and dumped in an additional three unanswered goals last Tuesday for a 5-0 trouncing of Chestnut Ridge. Libby Strayer led the offensive effort with two goals, and Nikki Fleming, Sam Roberts and Dakota Deneen each added one. Roberts, meanwhile, handed out two assists. Teammates Summer Ples- singer, Fleming and Jordin Smith each had one assist. Goalie Sarrah Pollock recorded the shutout with five saves.
Northern Bedford 0
Having a home field advantage for the first time in two weeks, the McConnellsburg Lady Spartans put on quite a show winning the Sideling Hill League match against Northern Bedford 7- 0. Libby Strayer and Nikki Fleming both scored two times last Thursday, and Sarra Kendall, Sam Roberts and Leah Mellott all added one goal. Strayer, Fleming, Kendall, Jordin Smith and Abby Peck each rallied for one assist. Sarrah Pollock racked up yet another shutout with seven blocked shots in goal.
Mercersburg Academy 0
McConnellsburg grabbed its third consecutive victory Saturday when the Lady Spartans swept Mercersburg Academy in three straight sets. Emily Watkins tallied eight kills, two blocks, seven digs and five aces, while Rikki Green also had eight kills and chipped in three blocks. Teammate Jessica Nero finished with five kills and 12 digs, and Gabby Danner rallied for 16 assists. Marleigh Jennings and Becca Hahn contributed 10 digs and three aces respectively.
Only winning their three sets by a range of two to four points, the McConnellsburg Lady Spartans pulled off a nail bitter against the Everett Warriors last Tuesday. During the 3-0 Sideling Hill League win, the Spartans were led by Emily Watkins with 11 kills and four digs. Teammate Jessica Nero chipped in seven kills and four digs, while Gabby Danner totaled 19 assists and four digs. Marley Jennings rounded out the match with six digs and three aces.

Allegany, Md. 0
After getting off to a slow start in the third set last Tuesday, the Southern Fulton Indians fought back to down Allegany, Md. by the final score of 3-0. Maggie Deneen led her Indian teammates in service points with 17 and also added two aces. Jenna Palmer added seven service points and eight digs, and Abby Hawkins again topped the assist category with 13.

Trailing only slightly in the two opening sets last Thursday evening, Southern Fulton floundered in set three for a 3-0 loss to Tussey Mountain. Whitney Ritz stepped up to lead the Indians with nine kills and five service points. Abby Hawkins followed with 12 assists and eight service points. Jenna Palmer tallied five digs, and Maggie Deneen rounded out the match with six digs and two aces.
Emily Watkins totaled a team-high 19 kills for the Mc- Connellsburg Lady Spartans, who downed the Hyndman Hornets last Thursday in three consecutive sets. Meanwhile, Gabby Danner produced 24 assists, five digs and four aces. Rikki Green added eight kills and five aces. Jessica Nero and Becca Hahn finished with three digs each
Mount Union 3
Southern Fulton 0
Southern Fulton was unable to compete with Mount Union, who ran away for the non-league victory, winning three consecutive matches 25-17, 25-12 and 25-12. Abby Hawkins dished out 10 assists, and Whitney Ritz added three kills, five blocks and three service points. Emily Barton tallied three kills, two blocks and three service points. Melanie and Maggie Deneen finished with eight and six digs, respectively.
Shalom Christian 1
McConnellsburg put an end to Shalom Christian’s six-game winning streak Monday with a 3- 1 nonleague victory led by Lady Spartan Rikki Green, who tallied 14 kills and two blocks. Emily Watkins followed closely with 12 kills, 10 digs and four aces, while Jessica Nero rallied for seven kills and 11 digs. Gabby Danner dished out 29 assists, 10 digs and three aces, and Marleigh Jennings finished with 12 digs.
