The Pennsylvania Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement reported a $3,000 fine and a 180-day suspension have been imposed against the Fulton Overseas Veterans Association Inc. located at 524 East Poplar Street, McConnellsburg.
The suspension, in connection with a liquor law violation, police said, is slated to get under way Monday, November 7, at 7 a.m. and conclude May 5, 2012.
The decision made by Administrative Law Judge Felix Thau on August 29 stems from a series of incidents that occurred at the FOVA between November 2010 and February 2011. During that time frame, employees reportedly failed to maintain complete and truthful records for the two years immediately proceeding February 17, 2011, as they pertain to the Local Option Small Games of Chance Act.
In addition, on November 13 and December 11, 2010, and January 22, 2011, employees sold alcoholic beverages to nonmembers and used a loudspeaker or similar device that could be heard outside the facility.
