Hancock Photo Contest Winners Anounced

Pictured above is Christy Hixon’s photo “Puddle Jumpers.” Pictured above is Christy Hixon’s photo “Puddle Jumpers.” The winners of the sixth annual Hancock area photo contest were announced Saturday, October 1 at War Memorial Library, by Sam Judge, of Warfordsburg, contest organizer. The contest is sponsored by the Hancock area photo club, the library, the Arts Council and Hancock In Motion. A $100 cash prize was awarded to the grand prize winner, and $25 prizes went to each of the first place winners in four categories, people, places, animals and Hancock values.

The winners and honorable mentions are listed below. The grand prize winning photo ‘Puddle Jumpers’ was taken near Warfordsburg by Christy Hixon. The photos listed will be on display at War Memorial Library, Hancock through the end of the year. Photos were judged equally for photographic skills and relevance to the Hancock area community by Ellisa Twigg, Sondra Bishop and Sam Judge.
