Girl Scouts Earn Bronze Award

Junior Girl Scouts in McConnellsburg Troop 1597 recently earned their Bronze Award. This is the highest award a Scout in fourth and fifth grade can earn. They are the first to earn this award in Fulton County in many years. The Scouts had to complete a book in which they learned about conserving energy and preserving the planet. They then planned, organized and implemented a community service project on their own. They cleaned headstones and trash from the Laurel Ridge, Mc- Connellsburg Methodist and Union cemeteries. Pictured above are Rebecca Wenschhof, Mary Booth, Carlie Lynch, Lena Duvall, Kyra Duvall, Marie Fuller, Kadi Mellott and Amanda Hoover.
