Future Farmers won the school livestock judging contest at the fair this year with 1215.6 points. Licking Creek was a close second with 1202.3 points, followed by Washington Township in third place and McConnellsburg fourth. The individual high scorer was Wallace Mellott of Licking Creek with 258.4 points.

Death: Oscar David Truax of Todd Township.

The Zion Methodist Church of Waterfall was “dedicated to the glory of God and His service” in the year 1853. During the week of October 19-26, the 88th anniversary of this dedication will be celebrated.

Three persons were injured last Thursday evening when a trailer truck operated by Tom Shook of Raleigh, N.C., collided with the car of Logue McKee on Route 126 in Brush Creek Township. Treated at the Everett Hospital were McKee for lacerations of the forehead and bruised knees; Mrs. Wilda McKee of Amaranth, lacerations of the upper lip and chest injuries and Miss S.W. Hart of Kennet Square, lacerations of the right knee and chest injuries. Damage to the McKee car was estimated at $650 and to the trailer at $2,000.

The McConnellsburg Lions Club celebrated the fifth anniversary of its organization at a meeting at the Fulton House on Tuesday evening.

Lyle Duffey is a sophomore at Westminster College.

Mrs. Robert Lodge was a guest at a breakfast given for the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority at Penn State one day this week.

Those having a perfect attendance record at the Cito Methodist Sunday School for the year ending September 30 were: Nancy Johnston, Jackie Mellott, Carolyn Buterbaugh, Verna Hendershot, Mary Alice Bivens, Helen Crouse, Leona Mellott, Martha Mellott, Wave Mellott, Carl Mellott, George Mellott, Calvin Mellott, Alton Ritchey, Carl Buterbaugh, Dorothy Mellott, Verda Craig, Helen Cutchall, Harry Mellott, Harold Ritchey and Harold Reed.

A miscellaneous shower was held at the home of the groom’s parents on Saturday evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fix Jr.

Fulton County is now on the WCTU map,with three units having been formed in the county – one each at Mc- Connellsburg, Fort Littleton and Burnt Cabins.

Mr. and Mrs. C.R. Cunningham of Waterfall visited their niece, Anna Catherine Miller, who is a patient in Elizabethtown Hospital.

Harry Hess is one of the enrollees at the CCC camp at Cowan’s Gap.

Death: Mrs. Rachel Wilson of Shade Gap.

Charles Mellott of Needmore is seriously ill at this writing.

Born: a son on October 11 to Mr. and Mrs. Max Snyder of Knobsville.

Cloyde Rowe Mellott of McConnellsburg has enrolled as a freshman at Franklin and Marshall College.

Death: Mrs. Alice Gillis of Harrisburg.
