It wasn’t a very nice weekend weatherwise, but maybe we can have a nice folk festival weekend next weekend.

Bob and June Bennett spent Sunday with Kate Berkstresser, and all attended the Lynch reunion at Needmore Firehall.

Fred and Betty Ann Funk of Oregon spent a couple days in Hustontown due to Betty Ann’s mother Betty Malot’s death.

Fulton Fall Folk happenings at Hustontown Firehall will be October 14 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A roast beef dinner with all the trimmings; Saturday, october 15, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., all-you-caneat old-fashioned slippery potpie (ham, chicken and beef); and an open stage at 6 p.m., with the kitchen opening at 5 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come and share their talent or just come and enjoy the talent of others. Admission is free. An all-youcan eat smorgasbord will be held Sunday, October 16, at 11 a.m., featuring six meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, etc. You won’t want to miss the meals prepared by the volunteer firemen and ladies auxiliary at the firehall.

Mark calendars for shooting matches to begin on Saturday, October 22, at 1 p.m. at Hustontown Firehall. First- and second- place prizes will b awarded.

A food auction will be at the firehall October 29 at 2 p.m. Kitchen opens at noon.

Household Hint: If there’s no bug spray on hand when flying insects appear, use hair spray as a substitute. It immobilizes the insect’s wings, making an easier target to swat or catch.
