Fulton County Community Christian School Boosters Club will serve an old-fashioned country breakfast Saturday, October 15, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m The menu will include pancakes, scrambled eggs, ham and sausage, sausage gravy, home fries, biscuits, dessert, juice and coffee. There is no charge, but donations are greatly appreciated. FCCCS is located along Rt. 522 in Needmore. Additional information may be obtained by calling 717-573-4400.

Chili Fest The seventh annual FFDC “buck a cup” chili fest will take place at Democratic Headquarters, 123 South Second Street in McConnellsburg during and after the Fulton Fall Folk Festival parade, right off the parade route on Route 522. Turkey chili, veggie chili, hot chili, mild chili, all kinds (while supplies last) will be available along with fresh coffee, hot chocolate and cornbread beginning at 10 a.m. and going until it’s all gone.

Cito United Methodist Church will serve a breakfast buffet Saturday, October 15, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., at Cito Fellowship Hall, 3746 Cito Road, McConnellsburg. Buffet style breakfast will include pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns, chipped beef gravy, toast, orange juice and coffee at no charge. Donations accepted.

The Knobsville United Methodist Church will hold a barbecue chicken dinner on Saturday, October 15, 2011, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Eat in or carryout. Menu consists of 1/2 barbecue chicken, baked potatoes, baked beans and macaroni salad, or you may just purchase 1/2 barbecue chicken. There will also be a bake sale. Take Rt. 475 off Rt. 522 toward Hustontown. First church ont he left. Look for signs.

The Fulton House museum will be open free all weekend October 14-16 with special displays of memorabilia from the 125th anniversary of the Crystal Springs Camp Meeting, the 225th anniversary of the founding of Mc- Connellsburg, and hundreds of recently donated postcards. Traditional beef-barley soup with scones will be served from the log cabin kitchen on Friday and Saturday along with other donated food items; please bring food donations to the cabin Friday morning or before.

The Historical Society’s 2011 tour on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, October 15-16, will showcase a family weekend home inside a renovated barn, a traditional PA covered bridge on private land, the original working equipment on the upstairs floors of the old Hunter Mill at Webster Mills, the inside of the newly renovated 1879 White Church at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg United Methodist sanctuary, and a vacant brick farmhouse circa 1900. Tickets with a $10 donation may be picked up at the Fulton House.

Vendors interested in setting up in Waterfall on Saturday, October 15, during the fall festival weekend please contact Jane at 814-685-3236 by September 15. Setup is free.

It’s time to start looking for your outfit at Second Time Around for the annual fashion show at the Fulton Fall Folk Festival in Waterfall Saturday, October 15. The outfit must come from Second Time. No charge for the outfit and yours to keep if you want it afterwards. It’s a lot of fun and good advertisement for all of the nice things you can find there. In addition, a prize will be awarded for the best of the show.

Food/Craft Sale The Fulton County Medical Center Auxiliary will celebrate the festival by holding a food and craft sale Friday, October 14, beginning at 9 a.m. in the activities room at the Medical Center. Available will be homemade soups (bowls or quarts), sandwiches, baked goods and a variety of craft items.

Festival activities at Hustontown Volunteer Fire Co. will be a roast beef dinner Friday, October 14, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, October 15, all-you-can-eat old-fashioned slippery potpie from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Saturday, October 15, at 6 p.m., open stage. Kitchen special will be oven-baked chicken, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, succotash and beverage; and Sunday, October 16, 11 a.m., all-youcan eat smorgasbord.

The McConnellsburg United Methodist Church will have apple dumplings for carryout on Friday, October 14, 2011, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. On Saturday they will hold a bake sale, and will have apple dumplings, chicken corn soup, sloppy joes, chili dogs, hog dogs and drinks available for sale. Inside dining will be available.
