Police Cruiser Struck At Accident Scene
A marked Pennsylvania State Police cruiser was struck by an alleged drunk driver while the trooper was investigating another crash along Route 522 last Friday evening.
Police reported 78-yearold Burnt Cabins resident Elwood G. Gallagher was attempting to drive through a crash scene in Dublin Township at 9:55 p.m. when his northbound 2005 Chrysler Pacifica struck the rear corner of a parked 2008 Ford Crown Victoria. At the time, the police cruiser, state police added, was parked and unattended on the eastern berm with its emergency lights activated.
Gallagher was not wearing a seat belt and escaped harm. He was transported to Fulton County Medical Center, where testing revealed his blood alcohol content level was over the legal limit. Charges of driving under the influence are pending.
