Firefighter Collapses, Dies At Pa. Training Center
LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) – Officials say a central Pennsylvania firefighter collapsed and died while running a drill at the Lancaster County Fire School.
The Intelligencer Journal/ Lancaster New Era reports. Keith Rankin collapsed suddenly Sunday afternoon while running a “live burn’’ drill at the school.
About two dozen fellow firefighters performed CPR on Rankin but the Lancaster Township Fire Department lieutenant never regained consciousness. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Lancaster County Coroner Dr. Stephen Diamantoni says it appears Rankin died of natural causes.
