McConnellsburg firemen were called on Sunday to assist the Needmore Fire Co. in fighting a barn fire on the farm of Harry Beam at Needmore. The barn and its contents were destroyed.

Revs. Larry and Judith Coleman of Hustontown will tour England, October 11-21. Their trip will be a United Methodist Heritage Tour of England and will include sights important to early Methodism.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Barton spent three weeks sightseeing through the northern states to California and through the southern states on their way back to Pennsylvania.

William Peffer of Wood and Karen Ford of Hopewell applied for a marriage license at the local courthouse.

Mr. and Mrs. C.B. Chubb visited Niagara Falls and parts of New York state last week.

Engagement: Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Grace of Waterfall wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Bonita Louise, to Ronald Lee Suders, son of Morris Suders and the late Mrs. Evelyn Suders of McConnellsburg.

Births at the Medical Center: a son to Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Worthing of Waterfall on September 26; a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Holland of Shade Gap on September 29; a son to Mr. and Mrs. Roger Leasure of Warfordsburg on October 1; a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Coffman of Three Spirngs on October 1.

Robert Ramsey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ramsey of Hustontown, recently was promoted to Army sergeant. He is serving as a gunner with Battery A, 3rd Battalion of the 23rd Infantry Division’s 82nd Artillery near Da Nang, Vietnam.

Hope Henry and James E. Clark were united in marriage on July 31 at Center United Methodist Church. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Henry of Harrisonville and Mr. and Mrs. James E. Clark of Pittsburgh.
