Teen Night

There will be a teen night at Fulton County Library this Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Board meeting from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Every teen welcome to attend. Mic Night

Mic Night will be held at Warfordsburg Senior Center, 209 Long Hollow Road, Warfordsburg on October 8, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Food and drink will be available. Donation is a $1. For more information call 717-294- 6020. Trunk Or Treat

Trunk or Treat will be held Saturday, October 29, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Knobsville United Methodist Church. The church is located on Waterfall Road. For more information or directions, please call 717-987-3215. Gordon Memorial 5K Run/Walk

The Dale Gordon Memorial 5K Run/Walk will be held October 15 in Needmore. Proceeds will benefit Fulton County Community Christian School. The race will begin at 8:30 a.m. Check-in starts at 7:30 a.m. in the square of Needmore. Entry fees are $20 if paid by October 12 and $25 if paid after October 12. Entry fees are nonrefundable. A free T-shirt will be given to all runners/walkers at check-in. The race will be held rain or shine. The award ceremony will be held at Needmore square following the race. Southern Fulton High School will present the threeact play “You Can’t Take It With You” by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman on Friday, September 30, and Saturday, October 1, at 7 p.m., in the high school auditorium. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students/children. Tickets will be on sale at the door or from cast members. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. both nights. Car Show

A car show will be held Saturday, October 15, form 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Needmore Bible Church, 6939 Great Cove Road, Needmore. Open to all antiques, hot rods, customs, classics, trucks and motorcycles. There will also be a concession stand, bake sale, music, children’s games, door prizes and more. Judging is at 1:30 p.m. and trophies will be awarded at 3 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Fulton County Community Christian School. Fulton County Line Dance Club will hold line dance sessions every Wednesday (except the first Wednesday of the month) beginning at 7:00 p.m. at VFW Post 655, Poplar Street, McConnellsburg. All are welcome. Come and learn some new steps. A $2 donation is appreciated. Golf Tournament

Fulton County Pony League will sponsor its first golf tournament on Saturday, October 8, 2011, at Great Cove Golf Course. Shotgun start will be at 1 p.m. and the cost will be $50 per golfer. The format will be a 4-person scramble with “don’t lose the baseball” holes. There will be hole-in-one contests, including a new car hole, and a putting contest with the grand prize of $2,500. Please come and support the county teams. Cut-off date for entering a team is October 5. Spots are filling up quickly and the maximum teams allowed will be 23. Tournament and contest sponsors are still available. Christmas bazaar will be held at Pleasant Grove Christian Church November 4, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and November 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The church is located three miles west of Needmore on Pleasant Grove Road. Lots of food, baked goods and all kinds of crafts. Senior Center Activities

Quilt Club Retreat

Fulton County Quilt Club will hold its annual retreat Saturday, October 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the social room of St. Stephen Catholic Church in McConnellsburg. Two classes will be taught: making crazy quilt blocks and fabric coloring and embroiderly. Items needed for the crazy quilt class are a 12-inch square of muslin, several colorful fabric scraps and a focal point fabric, sewing machine, thread, scissors, embroidery thread and needles. Items needed for the fabric coloring are white or light fabric with tone-on-tone design, crayons, sewing machine, thread and scissors. Please bring a covered dish to share. The Fulton County Pistol and Rifle Club will hold a .22 shoot on Saturday, October 8, beginning at 1 p.m. Federal ammo will be provided for the 25-yard 10-round shoot. Traditional hunting/field grade (no competition grade), manual loading (bolt, lever, pump, break action), no semi-auto or .22 conversions. Open iron sights, shooters will shoot freehand, no rests. Folks of all ages welcome. Cash prizes awarded.
