New Latter-day Saint Missionary

Sister Jessica Donaldson, a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, served in the Hancock area for five months before being assigned to another location. Sister Melissa Palmer has joined Sister Mary Gritis in serving the Hancock Ward.

Hailing from Rexburg, Idaho, Sister Palmer spent the first 14 months of her 18- month mission in Columbia, Frederick and Aberdeen, Md. She has two older sisters, two younger sisters and an older brother. The associate degree she earned at Brigham Young University, Idaho, in Rexburg was in general studies.

Sister Palmer has worked as an assistant manager for two different movie theaters. She was also a trail guide and youth counselor for ANASAZI, a nonprofit organization for troubled teens.

One of Sister Palmer’s hobbies while at home is reading books from a wide variety of genre. She also enjoys taking quiet hikes, generally spending time outdoors, and she has a passion for travelling.

Upon completion of her mission, Sister Palmer will return to work either for a movie theater or the ANASAZI organization for a season. Although she hasn’t chosen a field yet, she plans to work toward a Bachelor degree in a field that would be enjoyable to her and allow her to support a family, if need be.
