Harry W. Stallman
Harry William “Bill” Stallman, 86, a resident of the Long-Term Care Unit of Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, since April and formerly of Three Springs, died Thursday afternoon, September 15, 2011, at the Medical Center.
Born July 23, 1925, in Springfield Township, Huntingdon County, he was the son of the late Joseph and Colista (Roher) Stallman. He was married to Geraldine Varner on May 23, 1955, at Hagerstown, Md. She survives of the Long-Term Care Unit of the Medical Center.
He is survived by five sons and one daughter: Carl Stallman and wife Pam , Friendsville, Md.; Janet Mitchell and husband George, Three Springs; Wilbur Stallman and wife Rose, Friendsville, Md.; Mark Stallman and companion Mary, Hustontown; Joe Stallman and wife Kim, Mc- Connellsburg; and Scott (Ben) Stallman and companion Patty, Three Springs; 24 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a half-brother, Merrill Gerringer, Orbisonia; and two half-sisters, Mona Smith and Pearl Hoffman, both of Three Springs.
Three sisters: Gladys Ramsey, Mabel Gumbert and Viola Hoffman and a granddaughter, Shawna Stallman, are deceased.
In his early years, he worked at the Harbison- Walker Refractories, Mount Union, and as a custodian at the Southern Huntingdon County High School, Orbisonia.
He enjoyed being outdoors, visiting with his family and caring for his animals.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, September 19, 2011, at Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia. Pastor Richard Bernhard officiated. Interment was in the Old School Baptist Cemetery, Three Springs.
