Rt. 522/Rt. 30 Ramp Work To Begin
Beginning the week of, Sept. 26, 2011, prime contractor Grannas Bros. Stone and Asphalt Co. Inc. of Blair County will begin evening detours for ramp work at the Route 522/Route 30 Interchange. This work is weather dependent and could be delayed due to inclement weather.
There will be overnight detours from 5 p.m. to as late as 7 a.m. Only one interchange ramp will be closed at a time for the paving operations.
Westbound Route 30 travelers wishing to access Route 522 will use a 4.2 mile detour that will reroute them from Route 30 to Route 1006 (Lincoln Way West) to Route 16 (Lincoln Way West) to Route 522.
Eastbound Route 30 travelers wishing to access Route 522 will use a 4.5 mile detour that will reroute them from Route 30 to Route 1004(Lincoln Way East) to Route 522.
Route 522 travelers will use a 2.9 mile detour that will reroute them from Route 522 to Route 1004 to west-bound Route 30 and a 2.9 mile detour that will reroute them from Route 522 to Route 16 to Route 1006 in order to access Route 30 eastbound.
Overall work on this project will consist of concrete rehabilitation and resurfacing on Route 30 as well as drainage and guiderail upgrades. In addition, the four ramps that make up the Route 522/Route 30 Interchange at Mc- Connellsburg will be rehabilitated.
Work on Route 30 will continue to take place during daylight hours. Motorists should expect minor delays.
This $6.5 million project is expected to be completed by mid- December 2011.
