Landfill Rules Relaxed

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) – State environmental regulators are temporarily relaxing restrictions on waste haulers to expedite the cleanup of debris from the flooding that followed Tropical Storm Lee.

Environmental Protection Secretary Mike Krancer said his department has issued a waiver allowing waste haulers without the usual state authorization to dispose of storm debris during the 90-day emergency declaration that Gov. Tom Corbett issued.
