Teressa and Lydia Souders and Dixie, Betty Ramsey and Melanie Myers attended the Ligonier Highland Games this past weekend, where Dixie the Chihuahua was a huge hit donning her kilt. On the way home, they stopped off at the Flax Scutching Festival in Stahlstown, Ligonier Valley.

The Angel Wings-sponsored ham potpie meal to benefit Majerle “Marlee” North was an overwhelming success. Thank you to everyone who helped in anyway. Our blessings are extended to Angel Wings for the loving services they provide for those in need.

Tom and Mamie Streightiff visited with Tim Streightiff in Washington, D.C., on Sunday and stopped by the Farmer’s Market.

Visiting recently with the Steve Grissinger family were Brent Carlson, Donna Locke, Tom and Mamie Streightiff, Rick Anderson, Ramon Martin and Woody, Wendy, Dusty, Cody and Zach Martin.

The highlight of Karen Grissinger’s weekend was the eagle sighting on the farm Saturday afternoon. As he soared overhead many times, you couldn’t help but be in awe of his beauty. It’s fair to say his beautiful white feathers certainly overshadowed the buzzards.

The date and location for the annual Christmas bazaar for Angel Wings has been changed. It will be held at the Orbisonia Lions Club building the last weekend in October. Vendors can contact Deb Snyder at 814-599- 8687 to reserve a spot.

Three Springs Volunteer Fire Co. will be hosting a turkey dinner on Sunday, October 2 begininng at 11 a.m.

Zumba fitness classes will be held at the Saltillo gym on September 24 and October 1 and 8 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
