Paylor Wins Great Cove Championship

Photo by Lisa’s Photo Designs Club championship play ended Sunday, September 4, at Great Cove Golf Club with perennial contender Craig Paylor locking up his first championship win.

Paylor led the field after each round, shooting scores of 82, 76, 78 ( 236) to win Great Cove’s Men’s Club Championship following the third and final round of competition last Sunday.

Finishing behind Paylor was college student and new Cove golfer Jason Long. He shot 83, 80 and 82 (245) for his second-place finish. Longtime Great Cove golfer Kenny Mayhugh placed third with a combined total of 249.

In the second flight, Eric Fisher took firstplace honors, shooting 85, 84 and 86 (255), with Emmert Banzhoff shooting 90, 84, 82 (256) for second place. Howard Tomlinson was third with a total score of 258.

The third flight was won by Toby Suders, shooting 90, 93, 94 (277), with Tyler Smith in second with 97, 90, 91 (278). Tim Davis was third with a 285 total.
