Motorcycle Kickstand, Foot Peg Causes Accident

A Greencastle couple suffered injuries ranging from minor to moderate during a motorcycle accident along Route 30 Sunday morning, state police reported. Driver Robert L. Brown, 49, was taken to Chambersburg Hospital for treatment, while passenger Peggy A. Brown, 39, was flown on to Hershey Medical Center.

According to state police, the crash in Todd Township was believed to have occurred at 8:50 a.m. when either the kickstand or foot peg got caught on the roadway, causing Robert Brown to lose control of his 2008 Yamaha motorcycle. The motorcycle, police said, spun counterclockwise and slid onto the northern berm, where it collided with a dirt embankment. Both Browns were ejected from the motorcycle and were wearing helmets.

State police were assisted on the scene by the Mc- Connellsburg Volunteer Fire Co. and Medic 56.
