Woman Fired At Husband Near Judge's Office
PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (AP) – A western Pennsylvania woman is in custody after police say she tried to kill her husband outside a district judge's office.
Authorities say 60-yearold Judy Lee Sprankle fired six shots at her husband after he pulled into a parking outside the judge's office in Punxsutawney on Thursday.
Investigators say one shot struck the man's car and another hit a nearby residence. No injuries were reported.
State police say Judy Sprankle dropped the weapon when approached by officers.
Magisterial District Judge Douglas Chambers tells The Punxsutawney Spirit Sprankle had been at his office for a summary charge on allegations she threatened to kill her husband and another man.
Chambers ordered Sprankle held on $1 million bail on charges including attempted homicide. It was not immediately clear if she had an attorney.
