Pa. Governor: Unconfirmed Storm Death Total At 12
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) – Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett says the worst of the flooding from Tropical Storm Lee is now over, but that the state's unconfirmed death total is now at 12.
So far, at least seven deaths have been blamed on the storm in Pennsylvania. But Corbett said Saturday that the unconfirmed death toll is now at 12.
Meanwhile, tens of thousands of evacuated residents are being allowed to return home Saturday as rivers swollen by the remnants of Tropical Storm Lee recede across Pennsylvania
In northeastern Pennsylvania, officials lifted an evacuation order at 2:30 p.m. for as many as 60,000 of the 70,000 residents in and around Wilkes-Barre as the Susquehanna River's level continued receding. The rest will likely be able to return by Sunday.
