Car Goes Airborne
A McConnellsburg man will be charged with driving a vehicle at unsafe speeds as a result of a crash last Tuesday on Lincoln Highway.
According to state police reports, 52-year-old William H. Barnes was travelling westbound when he was unable to negotiate a curve at the top of Scrub Ridge on August 30. Barnes’ 1999 Mercury Sable skidded off the road and into a sign with large wooden posts. The car, police said, proceeded into a set of metal guiderails, causing it to go airborne. Upon impacting the ground, Barnesí vehicle flipped onto its roof.
Having suffered minor injuries, Barnes was transported to Fulton County Medical Center by McConnellsburg Ambulance.
