Benefit Cycle Ride Sept. 24

Live music, food at fairgrounds

A Children’s Miracle Network benefit motorcycle ride for Hershey Children’s Hospital that ends with fun, food, live music and games at the Fulton County Fairgrounds is set to take place Saturday, Sept. 24.

Bikers will leave Eagle Classics just east of York, Pa., on Route 30, and travel to the Fulton County Fairgrounds, with several stops along the way, including the Mountain House on top of Tuscarora Mountain east of Mc- Connellsburg.

Camping will be available at the fairgrounds for overnighters. Registration is required to participate in the ride for a $20-per-person and $30-per-couple donation through Sept. 17. From Sept. 18 through Sept. 24, the cost to register is $20 per person. According to event organizer Dave Leppo, owner of Eagle Classics, registration the day of the benefit ride is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Eagle Classics, Route 30 West, one mile past the airport in Thomasville, Pa.

Live bands scheduled to perform at the fairgrounds include Smokin Sextion, Trailer Park Cowboys and Hollows End. The public can attend the events at the fairgrounds for an admission charge.

In addition to Eagle Classics, event sponsors include Battlefield Harley-Davidson, Iron Horse Repair, Office Max, Bobby A’s Restaurant, Dilly’s Restaurant, Mountain House, Fulton County Fairgrounds, U.S. 30 Cycle & Auto, and Gruver’s Cakes.
