Robert Akers will leave for Drexel on Friday where he will register as a freshman, and Bill Morton is a first-year student at Penn State.

Terry Bard, Eddie MacKinlay and George Reisner Jr. registered at Mercersburg Academy this week.

Virginia Diehl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Diehl of Amaranth, has secured employment as a stenographer in Harrisburg.

A group of 25 young men, the largest ever sent for pre-induction exams, will report to Pittsburgh on September 26. Kenneth Sowers suffered a broken left leg last Thursday when his bicycle was struck by a car near Needmore.

Birth: a son on September 17 to Mr. and Mrs. Harvey J. Culler of McConnellsburg.

Mrs. Martha Yelovich, 23, of Fort Littleton, a former nurse at Fulton County Medical Center, was stricken with polio on Sunday and was taken immediately to Harrisburg.

No ruling has yet been made by the Fulton County Courts as to whether Guy Oakman or Gerald Peck is the winner of the Democratic nomination for county treasurer.

Mrs. Herbert Zilch of Fort Littleton entered Geisinger Hospital at Danville on Sunday for observation and treatment.
