Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and area businesses and well-wishers were on hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new Ott Brothers Furniture store addition located on Route 16. The addition nearly doubles the size of the former Ott Brothers Farm and Appliance Store and houses the family’s furniture business, which was purchased from Dale Keebaugh last year. Prior to this move, the furniture business had been located on Lincoln Way West in McConnellsburg.

Tim Hendricks, 18, a senior at Mc- Connellsburg High School, returned to Fulton County from the Soviet Union six weeks ago, but what has happened there in those six weeks has shocked and intrigued the entire world. Hendricks watched on television as tanks rolled through many of the same areas he had visited just weeks before. Hendricks participated in the People To People Youth Science Exchange this summer and studied aerospace engineering in the Soviet Union. He left Fulton County June 27 and returned July 18.

For the third year Mike Banzhoff was the winner of the Great Cove Men’s Championship Tournament. Bronwen Greathead was named the 1991 Great Cove Women’s Champion.

John and Teresa Fraker of Harrisburg are proud to announce the birth of son, John Hunter Jr., July 31 at Harrisburg Hospital.

Dennis and Angie Gordon of Needmore announce the birth of a baby girl, Carissa Jade, on August 23, at Washington County Hospital.

Birth at the Medical Center: a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Strait of Mc- Connellsburg on August 26.
