McConnellsburg native Jeanne Greathead Hutchinson, of Miami Shores, Fla., arrived here Saturday for a 10- day visit, her first trip home in 27 years. She is staying with nephew and Fulton County News publisher Jamie Greathead at the Greathead homeplace on South Second Street while she spends time with family and old friends. On Sunday, the Greathead clan gathered at the home of nephew Johnny and Lin Greathead on Meadow Ground Road to celebrate Aunt Jeanne’s 95th birthday on September 7. Out-of-town family included great niece Bronwen, Tom, great-great niece Lucy and great-great nephew Tommy Cullen, Montoursville, Pa.; great niece Megan, greatyour great nieces Audrey and Ava Harper, Hagerstown, Md.; and great niece Sage, Todd and great-great nephew Connor Miller, of New York state.

Guy and Wanda Truax observed their 61st wedding anniversary on September 3.

Trisha Gelvin and her daughter, Sidney, of Hustontown, were baptized on Sunday in St. Paul Lutheran Church in McConnellsburg by Pastor Chris Martin. Family members and friends were in attendance.

Paul and Betty Shelley observed their 57th wedding anniversary on September 7.

Stanley and Janet Mellott celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 2.

A surprise 40th birthday party was held for Kevin Peck of Greencastle and formerly of here on Saturday evening. It was given by his wife, Amber, and children Carter and Kendal. His aunts of the Pittsburgh area, along with other family members and friends, attended.

A graduation celebration was held on Saturday for Mariah Truax in Grace Bible Methodist Church in Hustontown. It was given by the congregation and family members.

Congratulations to Jeremy Shoemaker and Jade Anthony, who were married Saturday in an outside ceremony at the home of Chris and Christian Hann of Knobsville.

Greenhill Class of 1961 held a 50th reunion at Bob Evans in Breezewood on Saturday.

Sideling Hill Christian Church celebrated its annual homecoming on Sunday with worship service, a basket lunch and an evening hymn sing. Rev. Delmas Bard delivered the message.
